The climate in Madrid
Due to its central location in Spain, Madrid is in the continental climate zone. Therefore, the summers are hot and dry, the winters cold and sometimes frosty. Especially from December to February the average temperature drops to 6° Celsius. Thereby frost can occur. It gets warmer from March on. The temperature climbs on average to 18° Celsius. But the number of rainy days also increases. From March to May, precipitation falls on an average of 9 days. In the period from June to August the temperature reaches its highest values. Up to 40° Celsius make for a hot and dry summer. Even at night, the temperature rarely falls below the 30° mark. In autumn, the thermometer again shows 18° Celsius on average.
